From the 26th to the 30th of September 2022, the Small Scale Test #12 (SST#12) of the INGENIOUS project took place at ERTZAINTZA’s training facilities in Brigada movil, Bilbao, Spain. INGENIOUS is about ensuring a high level of protection and augmented operational capacity for First Responders (FRs) working inside the disaster area.
From 11 to 15 October 2021, our SBFF partners hosted three Small Scale Tests (SSTs), SST#1, SST#3 and SST#9 of INGENIOUS, in collaboration with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) at their main training field in the south of Sweden.
Södertörns Brandförsvarsförbund is an End User First Responder partner in the INGENIOUS project. SBFF is one of the largest fire and rescue organisations in Sweden with 10 municipalities within their district. They have 10 career stations (personnel 24/7), 3 “part time” stations with personal on watch at home and a few totally volunteer stations mainly on the islands in the archipelago and remote areas. Totally around 450 of staff. As a fire brigade in Sweden, they attend all sorts of incidents, not only fires but also car or train incidents, suicide, search and rescue on landslide or building collapses or incidents with hazardous substances.
SBFF is one of the three largest fire and rescue brigades in Sweden. We cover 10 municipalities with 650.000 inhabitants in the southern parts of Stockholm County. With roughly 500 staff members, we have a large capacity, ranging from volunteer stations to specialized National Search and Rescue Units.
