From 28th to 30th of September 2022 the Small Scale Test #14 (SST#14) which took place at ERTZAINTZA’s training facilities in Brigada movil, Bilbao, Spain, focused on testing and validation of the INGENIOUS Smart Devices in the air and on the ground.
Since our last blog post dedicated to the Micro Indoor drones (MINs) development, our partners from SINTEF have been able to participate in several Laboratory Integration Tests (LITs) and Small Scale Tests (SSTs) and show that the swarm of MINs can now incrementally deploy themselves and provide a localization possibility for First Responders (FRs).
Europe remains vulnerable to a wide range of natural and man-made hazards (such as floods, earthquakes, industrial accidents, loss of critical infrastructure, etc.), which have a huge impact on human lives and economic losses.
The Laboratory Integration Tests (LIT) are activities that shall help interaction among technical and non-technical partners to support the development of the various components.
The INGENIOUS Conference Paper titled “Micro indoor-drones (MINs) for localization of first responders” was presented at the ISCRAM 2021 – 18th International Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management in Blacksburg, VA, USA on 25 May 2021.
The MINs are one of the different autonomous aerial vehicles that are being developed within the INGENIOUS project. The main goal of the MINs, which are being developed by our partners in SINTEF, is to support the localization of FR moving in indoor dangerous and GNSS-denied environments.
